Lower Salt River Flow

Difficulty: Mild Class I
Length: 10 miles
Preferred paddle flow 500 – 1500 cfs (floatable as low as 300 cfs)

The lower salt river is ran by SRP. The water running through the lower Salt River comes out of Stewart Mtn Dam at Saguaro Lake. Water flow is generally seasonal from Spring to Fall. Temperature, weather, and need for irrigation water all are determining factors when exactly the water in the Salt is released

Even when Stewart Mountain Dam isn’t releasing water you can still float the river from Phon D Sutton Recreational Site down to Granite Reef Recreational Site (1 1/4 to 2 hour Run)
